Johnny Cash's Blue Morning Coat

Ridin The Rails
The forever amazing Man in Black
walks a different line this time...he walks the railroad line! Throwing
his guitar on his back, Johnny ambles down the track and climbs aboard a
giant locomotive as the engineer, taking us down the rails to visit an old
Midwestern town - then we hop aboard another train and roll into another
town. Then another town and another train. Now you sing along: “Another
town, another train...” Seriously, Mr. Cash is our on-the-spot host,
literally striding and riding on a melodic journey west, through the great
American history of rolling stock - whipping that guitar around front and
bursting into song at the drop of a hat. “Casey Jones,” “The Legend
of John Henry’s Hammer,” “The Wreck of the Old 97,” “The City of
New Orleans” and...”Ridin’ the Rails” are just a few of the many
songs that come steaming’ round the bend as he halts the story for
another tune (and a change of period costume). Many of the songs are
unaccompanied, many with full backing. He hums, loiters and tells stories
- even rides boxcars with hobos as the story of America’s trains is
re-enacted and sung. It’s solid music and folklore, with only you,
Johnny and all them big ol’ engines - he stars, sings, acts and
narrates.
