These Scriptures in the Holy Bible
where recited by Johnny Cash
Mark Chapter 8 - Verse 27 through 38
New Testament
Jesus went on with his
disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way he asked
his disciples, “Who do people say that I am”? And they answered him,
“John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and still others, one of the
prophets,” He answered them, “But who do you say that I am?’ Peter
answered him, “You are the Messiah.” And he sternly ordered them not
to tell anyone about him.
Then he began to teach them
that the Son of Man must undergo great suffering, and be rejected by the
elders, the chief priest, and the scribes and be killed, and after three
days rise again. He said all is quite openly. And Peter took him aside and
began to rebuke him. But turning and looking at his disciples, he rebuked
Peter and said, “Get Behind me, Satan ! For you are setting your mind
not in divine things but on human thing.
He called the crowd with his
disciples, and said to them, “If any want to become my followers, let
them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For those who
want to save their lives will lose it, and for those who lose their life
for my name sake, and for the sake of the gospel, will save it. For what
will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life? Those are
ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of
them the Son of Man will also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his
father with the holy angels

One of these Days I'm Gonna Sit Down and Talk to Paul
Chorus:
(A) One of these days I'm gonna sit down and talk to Paul.
One of these days I'm gonna sit down and talk to (E) Paul.
I will (A) ask him about his journeys and he'll (D) tell me about them all.
(A) One of these days I'm gonna sit (E) down and talk to (A) Paul.
He will introduce me to Luke and Timothy.
He will introduce me to Luke and Timothy.
I will be so glad to meet them, and they'll be glad to meet me.
He will introduce me to Luke and Timothy.
Chorus
I will ask him about that trip to Philippi.
I will ask him about that trip to Philippi.
In that miracle at midnight when the jail doors opened wide.
We'll sing those songs they sang at Philippi.
Chorus
I will ask him if he ever went to Spain.
I will ask him if he ever went to Spain.
I'll find out if he made it, I'll find out his secret pain.
I will ask him if he ever went to Spain.
Chorus

REDEMPTION
( Lyrics )
Written By Johnny Cash
From the hands it came down From
the side it came down From the feet it came down And ran to the ground
Between heaven and hell A teardrop fell In the deep crimson dew The tree of
life grew
And the blood gave life To the
branches of the tree And the blood was the price That set the captives free
And the numbers that came Through the fire and the flood Clung to the tree
And were redeemed by the blood
From the tree streamed a light
That started the fight 'Round the tree grew a vine On whose fruit I could
dine My old friend Lucifer came Fought to keep me in chains But I saw
through the tricks Of six-sixty-six
And the blood gave life To the
branches of the tree And the blood was the price That set the captives free
And the numbers that came Through the fire and the flood Clung to the tree
And were redeemed by the blood
From his hands it came down From
his side it came down From his feet it came down And ran to the ground And a
small inner voice Said "You do have a choice." The vine engrafted
me And I clung to the tree
