Hootenanny Hoot
1963 Movie
Johnny Cash Appears Briefly in This Movie And Sings
"Frankie's Man Johnny" From His 1959 Album
The Fabulous Johnny Cash

iThe
1963 country/folk song classic, HOOTENANNY HOOT. How many of you remember
that brief period of time when groups like Peter, Paul & Mary, The
Kingston Trio and The Limelighters moved rock 'n roll off the AM radio
charts?? It happened in the early '60s and the first of the few -- if not
the only -- movies to be spawned by this trend was HOOTENANNY HOOT,
brought to you by producer Sam (ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK, DON'T KNOCK THE
TWIST, etc.) Katzman. Sandwiched between the paper thin storyline were
performances by top country and folk acts like Johnny Cash, The Brothers
Four, Sheb Wooley, The Gateway Trio, and so on. The main cast was too bad,
either -- Peter Breck, Ruta Lee and Pam Austin
