Roy Orbison

Born on 4/23/36 Vernon Texas. Had his own band, the Wink Westerners in 1952 attended North Texas University with Pat Boone. First recorded for Je-Wel in early 1956. Toured with Sun Record Shows to 1958. Wife Claudette killed in a motorcycle accident on 7/6/66; two sons died in a fire. Died of a heart attack on 12/6/88 in Madison Tennessee.

Note One of the questions I've asked most often over the last three years has been whether Roy had recorded enough material for one more album 

Some of them are from master sessions and some demos. At times I could hardly bring myself to listen to the songs and definitely couldn't think of finishing the album without Roy. I guess that was on of the reasons why I arrived late at one of the first sessions. Don was had booked the studio to put the rhythm track around Roy's voice. 

When I finally arrived at the studio, the musicians had already left. Don and Rik Pekkonen were alone there. As I looked around the dimly lit studio - still full of empty cups and full ashtrays, I could just imagine the musicians telling one more funny story, the laughter of their comrades and Roy taking the last cup of Coca-Cola before saying Okay lets take it from the top. In that moment of daydreaming, Don started rolling the tape and I heard Roy's voice coming through the speakers singing  "Reach Out And Touch your Soul"  "And Give In To Love (From Well Take The night Hearing these words made it right for me to finish this album
